Very interesting article from the Washington Post that gives some insight into what it takes to get to the top and some trends that are changing.   One insight that is fascinating, “The percentage of top leaders who spent their entire careers at one company dropped from 50 percent in 1980 to 45 percent in 2001 to less than a third in 2011”.  Obviously, no company wants to hire a job hopper, but they also don’t want to hire someone that has really only worked for one company and hasn’t proven that they can adapt to other systems or have been just riding the coattails of a big brand or reputable company.  Take a look at some of the other insights.
